Red Ring Series 5
The Red Ring housingless stand design has a high reputation for roughing, intermediate and finishing applications. With more than 7,000 units commissioned worldwide, its design is renowned for its fully automatic operation, high rigidity and ease of maintenance. With an improved resistance to wear of key components, the Series 5 stands are available in different sizes and configurations.
Roughing Solutions for Billets, Blooms and Large Rounds
The roughing area plays an important role in the flexibility of production of a modern mill, the reduction of its layout space, the minimization of the costs of rolling and post-rolling operation. All with automatic operation and maintenance procedurs, several applications are available:
- Forging-like rolling, it offers a cost-effective alternative to the ingot-casting route for large dimensions
- Compact rougher, for high reductions in a limited space
- Reversing 2-high stand rougher, in horizontal-vertical with highly flexible process
- Sliding stand rougher, it simplifies the manipulating system and associated civil works
Compact Cassette Rolling Stands (CCR)
The CCR stands suit the demanding requirements of special bar rolling. The extremely rapid cassette change facility, allows for flexible and efficient production, even for orders with a small number of billets. Available with monogrooved or multigrooved stands and also as a reversing block, CCR stands offer an easy access from the top and can be arranged in horizontal, vertical and 45° configurations. Its compact design reduces the building height requirements.
2+4 EVO Bar Reducing and Sizing Mill
The 2+4 EVO reducing and sizing mill uses a patented pass design. A reducing group with 2-Roll stands with high reduction is followed by a sizing group with 4-Roll stands with low reduction. While the 2-Roll high reduction guarantees the desired metallurgical structure, the 4-Roll low reduction provides excellent surface finish and size tolerance. The 2+4 EVO effectively employs the concepts of single-family and free-size rolling, which both reduce the required number of roll sets. The utilization and productivity of the mill are greatly improved.
Inline Cooling Technologies
In a modern mill the mechanical deformation actions are completed by inline controlled cooling technologies in order to obtain important benefits, like an improved process control, the reduction of product non-conformities and lower operation costs. From rebar quenching to thermo-mechanical rolling for quality bars and to inline solubilization of stainless grades, several solutions are available, all with automatic operation and assisted by validated thermo-metallurgical models.
