Primetals Technologies expands its portfolio with leading torch-cutting solutions
In August 2023, Primetals Technologies acquired the cutting technology assets from Spanish company TCT Torch-Cutting Technologies and signed key personnel to a long-term service contract in order to expand its competences with inhouse torch-cutting expertise. The acquirement of the TCT assets allows Primetals Technologies to fully integrate torch-cutting technologies into not only the continuous casting segment but also into the wider range of automation solutions for casting and a comprehensive scope of metallurgical services.

voestalpine Stahl Donawitz to expand integrated quality control system from Primetals Technologies across the entire production chain
Primetals Technologies recently received a new order from voestalpine for implementing the knowledge-based quality control system Through-Process Quality Control (TPQC) at the steel plant in Donawitz, Austria. The new solution enables automatic and seamless long-term data evaluation in the meltshop.

MHI and Primetals Technologies to acquire ABP Induction Systems
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Primetals Technologies will acquire ABP Induction Systems (ABP), a global manufacturer and servicer of induction furnaces and heating systems from CM Acquisitions, a Chicago based private equity firm. ABP offers a variety of best-in-class products and comprehensive services to blue-chip customers, including leading automotive OEMs and suppliers, industrial manufacturers, independent foundries as well as steel plant manufacturers and steel producers. MHI and Primetals Technologies will jointly take ABP’s shares.

Primetals Technologies to upgrade Texas steel mill
Vinton Steel LLC of Vinton, Texas, has signed a contract with Primetals Technologies for an upgrade of its bar mill. The upgrade will enable Vinton to reduce delays, increase productivity, improve bundle quality, and enable the mill to handle bar up to 80-foot lengths.
