Dr. Thomas Pfatschbacher

Head of  Digital Transformation & Smart Production, Primetals Technologies

Dr. Thomas Pfatschbacher completed his master’s degree in technical physics at the technical university of Linz and his PhD in Material Science at the University of Leoben and Technical University of Munich. From 1998 till 2007 he worked at the voestalpine as Senior Expert and later Head of Electrical Steel, after that he was Business Unit Manager at the vatron GmbH untill 2010. In 2010 he joined Primetals Technologies as Global Vice President & Head of Mechatronics. In 2013 he became the Vice President of Technology and Innovation for Casting and Rolling, ESP, Mechatronics, as well as Through Process Optimization. From 2019 Mr. Pfatschbacher is acting as Senior Vice President of Smart Production and CDO of Primetals Technologies.

Bernhard Schürz

Head of Technology & Concepts – Upstream, Electrics and Automation, Primetals Technologies

Bernhard graduated as a technical mathematician from Johannes Kepler University in Linz/Austria. He joined Primetals Technologies more than 30 years ago. After several years in development of Mathematical Process Models and Expert systems, project management and project commissioning in various international projects and Technical Sales activities, Bernhard is heading the Level 2 Upstream team at Primetals Technologies for more than 10 years.
