Dr. Gerald Wimmer
Vice President, Converter Steelmaking, Primetals Technologies
Gerald holds a PhD in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in international business administration. He joined the Converter Steelmaking team at Primetals Technologies (at that time Siemens VAI) in 2009 as an expert for simulations and started to build up a simulation team. After holding a position for technology and innovation, he assumed business responsibility for converter steelmaking in 2016. His main expertise is in the area of business development and innovations for processes and equipment. He holds several patents for converter equipment.
