The bright future: Dark plants
This session takes you on a journey to the “dark plant” of the future, where human operators are no longer needed and – theoretically – all lights could be turned off. Autonomous systems, digital assistants, and AI are all part of this concept.

Technology Officer, Electrics and Automation
Günther Winter holds a degree in electrical engineering. He joined Primetals Technologies (at that time Siemens) in 1979 as Commissioning Engineer. He has a long experience in commissioning of hot and cold rolling plants, project management and sales. Since 2006 (at that time Siemens VAI) he is Technology and Innovation Head of the Global Business Unit Electrics and Automation.
