The road to automotive, as taken by HBIS Tangsteel
The relationship between HBIS Tangsteel and Primetals Technologies has been a long and fruitful one. It has turned the Chinese company into a certified supplier to the automotive industry and to white-goods manufacturers.

Peter Örtelt
Head of Integrated Plants, Primetals Technologies
Peter completed his master’s degree in metallurgy at the University of Leoben in 1996 and 2004 he went on to obtain a master’s degree in quality management. In 2011 he joined Primetals Technologies in Linz as General Manager for Integrated Plants and Technology Consulting. From 2005 until 2011 he was working at Bimetall Production Böhler-Uddeholm Precision Strip GmbH. In 2019 he was appointed Head of Integrated Plants at Primetals Technologies where he focuses on positioning our customers with new investments for being competitive and successful in the future.
Dr. Yuyou Zhai
Head of TPO, Digital Transformation, Primetals Technologies
Yuyou holds a PhD degree in metallurgy from RWTH Aachen University in Germany. After University he joined Primetals Technologies in Linz (VAI at the time) in 1994 and worked as a development and process engineer, later as startup and project manager in the steelmaking department. From 2004 to 2012 he was working for our company (former Siemens VAI) as General Manager of Iron & Steelmaking and Eco business in China. From 2015 to 2017 he was working on TPO project Tangshan as resident site manager. Since 2020 Mr. Zhai is acting as head for DT TPO in Primetals Technologies.
