Reduce Inspection Effort and Downtime Significantly with Real-Time Insights
The structural health monitoring system is a wireless, sensor-based crack detection software used for real-time steel structure monitoring in cranes, girders, runways, and support structures in steel plants and other heavy industrial facilities. It combines easy‑to‑install magnetic field sensors with cloud analytics to reveal hidden cracks, track their growth, and turn continuous structural data into clear, actionable maintenance decisions without downtime or safety risks.
Unique Magnetic Sensing for Hidden Cracks
Our sensors use the Earth’s magnetic field to detect changes inside steel, making hidden internal cracks visible, not just the ones you can see. Each sensor is divided into multiple measurement zones (three in the compact sensor, thirty-two in the flexible one), enabling precise detection and tracking of crack formation and growth over time.
Fast, Non-Invasive Installation and Wireless Connectivity
Installation is simple and non-disruptive: sensors are glued onto a cleaned steel surface, with no drilling, welding, or special mounting hardware. They can be placed near existing cracks or in high-stress areas. Up to 20 sensors per transmitter send data via LoRaWAN to a gateway over distances of up to 10 km, depending on site conditions, before secure transfer to the cloud.
Actionable Insights in m.space Platform with Flexible Business Models
All data is automatically analyzed in the m.space platform, where you get clear dashboards, trend views, and scheduled reports in near real time. This enables early detection, better maintenance planning, and higher safety and uptime. The system is available as a CAPEX investment or via flexible subscription plans with different service levels, ensuring continuous platform access, updates, and support tailored to your plant’s needs.
Main Benefits of the Structural Health Monitoring System
- Identify both surface and sub-surface cracks early – even those invisible to the eye
- Eliminate the uncertainties of manual, visual inspections with automated monitoring and evaluation
- No need to halt operations for inspections
- Continuous surveillance means you can maintain production
- No scaffolding, lifts, or special access equipment required
- Inspections are performed remotely and automatically, keeping personnel out of hazardous zones
