The RH Cob Lance is designed to optimize the RH process by addressing essential tasks such as oxygen injection for decarburization and chemical heating under vacuum, vessel heating, and skull removal inside the RH vessel during process pauses under atmospheric pressure. It achieves a high decarburization rate with an optimal gas/oxygen ratio, ensuring efficient resource use and low maintenance costs. The lance facilitates RH vessel heating up to 50°C per hour, making it a crucial component in secondary metallurgy applications, including the production of ultra-low carbon steel.
The multifunctional, water-cooled RH Combined Oxygen and Burner (COB) Lance is essential for effective secondary metallurgy, addressing challenges such as efficient decarburization, chemical heating, precise vessel heating, and effective skull removal at each RH treatment station. Crafted with a durable copper lance tip, it features an integrated spark plug ignition system that eliminates the need for a separate ignition burner. The newly designed annular gap for gas blowing and optimized gas-to-oxygen ratios significantly minimize the risk of lance tip clogging.
The RH Cob Lance performs four key functions: it facilitates highly efficient oxygen blowing under vacuum for decarburization and chemical heating, injects oxygen and gas under atmospheric pressure for vessel-refractory heating, and removes skulls after RH treatment. Equipped with a camera, the lance monitors steel circulation, alloying additions, and flame development during burner operation, ensuring safety and enabling precise refractory inspection.
