The Middle East Iron & Steel Conference 2024 brought together over 1,300 delegates from 61 countries and over 600 companies. Primetals Technologies’ booth attracted many visitors with its interactive 3D plant models and expert discussions on green steel and digitalization. Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl joined a panel on “Is the Region Poised to Become a Leader in the Production of DRI and Green Steel?”, while Christoph Aichinger and Wolfgang Sterrer hosted a workshop on “Defining Synergies from Pelletizing and Direct Reduction to Green Steel”, making it a standout event for industry networking and innovation.

The 26th MEIS, the established leading annual gathering for the iron and steel industry in the MENA region, attracted more than 1,000 visitors this year. Our booth played a central role as a networking hub, facilitating meaningful connections with both existing customers and prospective clients. Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl contributed to the panel discussion on "DRI Production in the Context of Steel Decarbonization – Gulf Countries as Net Exporters?" while Wolfgang Sterrer delivered a speech on "Shaping the Future of Direct Reduction and Green Ironmaking."
