The OsciChecker is an oscillation measurement tool designed for precise mold oscillation measurement in continuous casting machines. In the steel industry, maintaining optimal mold oscillation is crucial for reducing downtime, preventing strand breakouts, and enhancing surface quality. The OsciChecker addresses these challenges by providing accurate data on mold movements, enabling predictive maintenance and improved lubrication conditions.

The OsciChecker is a comprehensive solution for measuring mold oscillation in continuous casting machines. It utilizes capacitive acceleration sensors to capture mold movements in all three spatial directions. This data is crucial for assessing mold stroke, oscillation frequency, and non-sinusoidal values. The system also detects movements in and perpendicular to the casting direction, including negative strip time and percentage, and identifies total harmonic distortion. By providing detailed 3D visualization and data storage, the OsciChecker supports plant operators in optimizing casting operations.

The OsciChecker is equipped with up to four measuring sensors, a calibration plate, and a data acquisition and evaluation program. Its portable design, with a protective case on a trolley, ensures easy handling and transport across different strands. The system is suitable for both straight and curved molds, as well as sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal movements, making it ideal for slab, bloom, and billet casting machines. The wireless version, OsciChecker Wireless, offers additional convenience by eliminating the need for cables, enhancing user comfort and flexibility.
