As a global market leader in stainless steel, Outokumpu wants to use Primetals Technologies’ expertise and technology to take its proficiency in casting stainless steel to a new level.

Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC, a leading steel manufacturer in Southeast Asia, awarded Primetals Technologies with a contract for process and technology consulting services for their integrated steel plant in Dung Quat, Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam.

Recently, Brazilian steel producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) ordered a new relining machine from Primetals Technologies for its steel mill located in Pecém, a city in the state of Ceará, in north-eastern Brazil.

Steel producer ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) recently ordered a coupled Pickling Line and Tandem Cold Mill (PLTCM) from Primetals Technologies for its site in Hazira, Gujarat in the western part of India.

Recently, the first three subscription-based process optimization systems (Level 2) for continuous casters supplied by Primetals Technologies received final acceptance certificates (FAC). One of the systems is used in Germany, the other two in the U.S.A. This innovation makes it possible for steel producers to use an OPEX-based license model when installing a new automation system, instead of having to plan for capital expenditure (CAPEX) investments.
