Chinese steel producer Zhongshou Special Steel Group has ordered an Arvedi ESP line from Primetals Technologies for its plant in Luanzhou, Hebei Province. A proven high quality of hot-rolled coil produced in endless mode as well as the absence of fossil fuel consumption where the main reasons behind Zhongshou’s choice of technology.

Chinese steel producer Shougang Qianan has recently chosen Primetals Technologies for a comprehensive upgrade of the automation systems at its hot-strip mill in Qianan, Hebei province. The process optimization system (Level 2) from Primetals Technologies will allow the Chinese producer to meet and exceed the requirements of demanding applications like electrical steel and strip for the automotive industry.

In September 2023, the world’s first 3-strand continuous slab caster was implemented at Chinese steel producer Tangshan Donghua Iron and Steel Enterprise Group’s site in Tangshan, Hebei province, China. The machine achieves significantly higher production capacity than a 2-strand caster while requiring 50 percent less space than the comparable conventional configuration of two 2-strand casters.
