AISTech 2023 – Detroit, USA

May 8- 10, 2023

This thrilling event brought together over 7000 attendees who were eager to witness multiple technical presentations presented by Primetals Technologies. The exhibits at the Primetals Technologies booth featured cutting-edge technologies such as TPQC and ALEX for quality control and automation, m.space and MAT for optimized material tracking, and the Digital Caliper for precise measurements. However, the highlight of the event was the Arvedi ESP 3-D printed model and simulator, providing an immersive experience of this revolutionary process.

European Green Steel Summit 2023 – Frankfurt, Germany

March 22 - 23, 2023

"How to Build a Holistic Green Steel Industry" was the discussion topic that brought together 300 participants covering the whole range of the steel value chain. The Head of Green Steel and CTO Upstream, Alexander Fleischanderl, presented our company in the panel to discuss how to use emerging technologies of Green Steel. The increasing demand for green steelmaking has highlighted the importance of adapting low-carbon steel production routes to stay ahead of the game.

Tata Steel Environment Management 7th International Annual Meet +EMPACT – Kolkata, India

March 16, 2023

The theme for this year's meet was "Rise to Resilience". In this event, government research institutes and the council related to energy, environment and climate resilience as well as technology and equipment suppliers presented some highly interesting papers. On invitation from Tata Steel, Biswadeep Bhattacharjee, Vice President Sales & Head of Green Steel India represented Primetals Technologies and showed Green Solutions for decarbonising steel and iron ore agglomeration.

Digital Transformation Forum for the Steel Industry 2023 – Pittsburgh, USA

March 7 – 8, 2023

Organized by the Digitalization Applications Technology Committee of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), this conference attracted more than 130 experts to discuss the steel industry’s digital transformation journey. Anil Kanagala served as a Session Chair and represented our company during the Expert Panel Discussion. The panel addressed the current state of technology underlying the digital transformation of the steel industry as well as the digital transformations governance and organizational change management. The panelists also emphasized that the future includes OEMs playing an important role as the steel industry evolves in a more digital direction.

International Conference on Sintering & Pelletizing 2023 – Jamshedpur, India

January 18 – 19, 2023

Around 230 delegates from the Iron & Steel Industry, relevant academic institutes and R&D lab participated in the conference that was organized by Tata Steel in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Metals - Jamshedpur Chapter, and the Pellet Manufacturers Association of India. Several theses were presented on Sintering and Pelletizing during the 2 days of the event, among them our paper on “Enhanced Sinter raw mix and Product control combined with solid fuel and Emission Freight reduction”.

MEIS 2022 – Dubai, UAE

December 12 - 14, 2022

More than 900 visitors attended the annual Middle East Iron & Steel (MEIS) Conference 2022 in Dubai. MEIS is the largest annual meeting of the iron and steel industry in the MENA region. With three days of unbeatable content – delivered by senior and respected regional executives – covering raw materials dynamics, iron and steel production fundamentals, and consumption drivers in the Middle East and North African countries. Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl, Head of Green Steel at Primetals Technologies, took part in the panel discussion about "Steel technology Innovation" and did a presentation on "The steel industry and climate change".

Technology Day on Green Steel – Jamshedpur, India

December 9, 2022

In cooperation with Tata Steel, the "Technology Day on Green Steel" took place on December 9, 2022 in Jamshedpur, India. Over 40 delegates including Senior Management participated in the day-long session. The morning was all about the global situation, trends, pathways and roadblocks for the Green Steel transformation. In the afternoon different approaches were discussed on the case specific scenario for transforming integrated plants like the Tata Steel Jamshedpur.

Seminar 'Green Steelmaking' – Kolkata, India

October 21, 2022

Around 120 delegates from Iron & Steel Industry, relevant academic institutes, and labs participated in the seminar to exchange their view on the focus topic of the event Sustainable Technology for Indian Steel Industry & Sourcing of Steel Plant Equipment in India. Various papers were presented in different sessions – such as Adopting latest technologies to remain cost competitive & sustainable. 
It was a pleasure to participate in this highly engaging convention. Thank you to the organizer Steel Tech for making this possible.

Aluminium 2022 – Duesseldorf, Germany

September 27 - 29, 2022

After a four-year break, we returned to Duesseldorf and the World’s leading Aluminum trade fair ALUMINIUM 2022. Despite some travel restrictions still being in place the show exceeded many expectations and was exceptionally well attended with over 20,000 trade visitors from 100 nations. The demonstration rig of the Air Bearing ShapeMeter (ABSM) connected to a Primetals Technologies Technical Control System (TCS), as well as the presentation of the full-scale Edgewipe display unit were very popular attractions and talking points for visitors. The event was a great opportunity to once again meeting customers face-to-face. It was a pleasure to participate and we are looking forward to returning in 2024.

Stainless & Special Steel Conference – Hamburg, Germany

September 20 - 22, 2022

More than 300 visitors came together in Hamburg to discuss the burning topic of the industry: More sustainable steel. Emerging questions like how to decrease energy consumption with short term measures, how to reduce CO2 emissions with the right scrap composition for EAF premelts, and the recycling of by-products attracted many participants to the panel discussion as well as to the presentation held by Bernhard Voraberger, Head of Technology Steelmaking.

8th ECIC & ICSTI – Bremen, Germany

August 29 - September 2, 2022

For the first time, the 8th European Coke and Ironmaking Congress (ECIC) and the 9th International Conference on Science and Technology of Ironmaking (ICSTI) took place together in Bremen, Germany. While highlighting the latest technologies in cokemaking, sintering, pelletizing, and ironmaking, a clear focus on the future of the blast furnace and a transition toward direct reduction emerged with with an emphasis on eco-friendly production in many of the 114 talks. Presentations from Primetals Technologies included a keynote speech from Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl and papers from 7 other experts, covering the hot topics related to ironmaking.

ABM Week 6 edition – São Paulo, Brazil

June 7 - 9, 2022

After a two-year break, we returned to Latin America’s largest technical and scientific event in the fields of metallurgy, materials, and mining. Our experts engaged in discussions after they held their technical presentations e. g. about product quality at continuous casting using XXL bearing units or a best practice example of equipment and process innovations already incorporated into the new mill design of our Chinese customer YongXing Special Stainless Steel Co. Ltd. Additionally, our innovators Franz Kolmbauer and Bojan Jozic exchanged knowledge and opinions at the round tables.

Steel Success Strategies 2022 – Miami, Florida, USA

June 5 - 7, 2022

More than 300 leaders from across the steel industry participated in the event that features keynote speeches and panel discussions about topics including global steel markets, trade, and raw materials pricing.

Like last year, the major theme centered on the efforts of steel producers to transition to zero-carbon production. Primetals Technologies’ Joerg Buttler, Senior Director – Mechanical Business – Upstream US, participated in one of the 2 panels about decarbonization. In a speech titled “Decarbonizing Strategies for the Steel Industry to Meet Net-zero by Mid-century,” Mr. Buttler reviewed steel producer CO2 reduction targets as well as the main considerations for reducing carbon emissions. He also pointed to several technologies that can help steel producers achieve their targets and improve energy efficiency.

EFRS'08 – İzmir, Turkey

May 26 - 27, 2022

Over 1.800 participants visited the 8th International Iron and Steel Symposium where 4 panel discussions, 7 interactive sessions, 26 oral presentations and 69 poster presentations engaged the visitors to step into conversation. In keeping with the event’s motto “New Horizons”, the main focus was on Green Steel and Digitalization. In the Panel Discussion “Zero Carbon”, where Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl participated, but also in the presentations from Deniz Çatan and Dieter Bettinger, it could be seen that the participation and the degree of people participating from the integrated iron- and steelworks increased significantly compared to previous EFRS symposiums. We want to quote one of our customers when thanking the host for making this great event possible: It was “just awesome”.

AISTech 2022 – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

May 16 - 18, 2022

AISTech 2022 returned to Pittsburgh more successful than ever. This year 8.068 visitors attended the fair to get to know more about the header topics Decarbonization and Digitalization. At the Primetals Technologies booth, which measured 100ft2, experts from all over the world exchanged knowledge and informed themselves about the latest technology trends such as low-carbon steel production, advanced process optimization, and the digitalization of all production-related processes. Thank you for coming to our booth and enriching this fair with great conversations. We would also like to thank the audience of our 16 presentations, who showed great interest in the different sessions, and the host, the AIST, for enabling to bring back this great event.

PIONEERS TALK “How crafted scrap supports the production of quality steel and reduces CO2” – Live on LinkedIn

May 3, 2022

More than 110 steel experts from Canada to India attended this live-streamed expert interview on LinkedIn. Heiner Guschall, CEO of SICON Germany, and Andreas Melcher, Scrap Yard Automation Expert at Primetals Technologies, shared insights how “crafted scrap” enables the production of high-quality steel and reduces CO2 emissions, how “conventional scrap” can be converted into “crafted scrap”, and how essential the automation of production and logistics processes is in a steel factory. The moderator Christoph Stangl, Marketing Manager EA at Primetals Technologies, handed over questions from the participants to the two speakers. We would like to thank all participants for their interest and their ambitious engagement. This was by far the most successful live-streamed PIONEERS TALK so far – and more will come.

Digital Transformation in Steel Manufacturing – Burnpur, India

December 10 - 11, 2021

The conclave on Digital Transformation in Steel Manufacturing in Burnpur, West Bengal was a great success. Around 300 visitors participated in this great event to discuss how to leverage digital transformation in the steel industry for value maximization. Delegates from some of the major steel plants in India, as well as premiere technological and research institutes/ consultants, plant builders/technology suppliers and equipment manufacturers/integrators/startups attended the conclave. In only 2 days 35 papers were presented, among these “Applied Digitization in BOF Steel Meltshop” from Primetals Technologies.  A big thank you goes to the organizer SAIL, IISCO Steel Plant for hosting this great event. It was a pleasure to participate.

Middle East Iron & Steel Conference – Dubai, UAE

December 6 - 8, 2021

Primetals Technologies presented its portfolio at the Middle East Iron and Steel (MEIS) in Dubai. Organized as hybrid event visitors had the opportunity to meet in person or participate virtually.  

Many customers seized the chance to personally meet with the experts from Primetals Technologies at MEIS 2021. "Our motto – green steel for a zero-carbon world – proved to be a real icebreaker and many visitors wanted to learn more about our decarbonization solutions," explains Andreas Rathhuber, Head of Sales Middle East & Africa (SM MEA). Accordingly, Alexander Fleischanderl, Technology Officer Upstream, presented the latest developments in green steel at the "Steel Technology Innovation Workshop" and during the panel "Sustainability and Mitigation of Carbon Emissions".

10th Austria Connect Gulf Conference & Austrian National Day – Dubai, UAE

November 18, 2021

Primetals Technologies joined the celebration of the successful business relationship between Austria and the UAE region at the 10th Austria Connect Gulf Conference combined with the Austrian National Day as gold sponsor. Top-level representatives of the Austrian government as well as leading Austrian businesses, high-ranking UAE officials, key decision makers from the Gulf Cooperation Council, and senior business partners attended the event. Primetals Technologies had the honor of being part of the jubilee book "Austria and the United Arab Emirates – 45 Year of Partnership" highlighting the long history of close cooperation between both countries and their successful projects in the region.


Steel Success Strategies 2021 – Florida, USA

November 7 - 9, 2021

Hundreds of leaders from across the steel industry gathered in Miami, Florida, for the Steel Success Strategies conference at the beginning of November. Through keynote speeches and panel discussions, attendees learned about topics ranging from global steel markets and trade to raw materials pricing and technology breakthroughs. This year, decarbonization was the main technology theme. Primetals Technologies brought tremendous value to this topic with a speech by Aashish Gupta, Executive VP and Head of Upstream business. In the Key Technologies for Industry Sustainability panel discussion, his presentation “Decarbonizing the Steel Industry” covered the main drivers of decarbonization. He also used several technologies from the Primetals Technologies decarbonization portfolio as examples that support the steel industry’s continued efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

ISRS'2021 – Iskenderun, Turkey  

September 23 - 24, 2021

The International Steel Rolling Symposium took place for the first time in the Anemon Hotel in Iskenderun, Turkey and attracted more than 1.000 iron and steel professionals. During the excellent cocktail and gala dinner metals experts could exchange knowledge and establish new contacts in the industry. Aside from Digitalization, the Primetals Technologies´ Centers of Competence (COCs) also debated different mill types such as Pair Cross Mills, Bar and Wire Rod Mills. In addition, Primetals Technologies employees discussed the digitalization, technology, and service portfolio with interested visitors. Thank you to the Chamber of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers for hosting this great event.


Aluminum USA 2021 – Louisville, Kentucky, USA

August 31 - September 2, 2021

Every two years, end-users, producers, suppliers, and other industry professionals attend Aluminum USA to learn more about the latest trends and technologies for aluminum production, processing, and finishing. Numerous visitors to the Primetals Technologies booth asked about the Edgewipe display unit and discovered how this technology removes excess coolant fluid from the extreme vertical edges of aluminum strip. Attendees also saw a simulation of EdgeMon software and learned how it manages side trimming inspection to improve edge quality on both sides of the strip. Additionally, a display showing a cut-away view of an ISV spray bar provided a more thorough understanding of the coolant spray system installed in more than 350 plants worldwide.

5th ESTAD – Hybrid event: Stockholm, Sweden & Virtual  

August 30 - September 2, 2021

The fifth ESTAD took place in Stockholm Sweden, where it got visited by more than 100 on-site-attendees. Further, 300 visitors participated in the event virtually. Primetals Technologies prepared 20 pre-recorded videos featuring topics like Decarbonization, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In addition, Alexander Fleischanderl, Head of Eco Solutions, delivered a presentation on „Decarbonizing steel - a global perspective“, and was available to engage in live dialog with visitors.

AISTech – Hybrid event: Nashville, USA & Virtual

June 29 - July 1, 2021

Approximately 4.000 visitors attended AISTech 2021. For the first time, a virtual platform was offered additionally and visited by more than 1.000 online attendees. Although the numbers of visitors were only about half the usual amount due to the pandemic, the event was a great success.

Another highlight was the award ceremony of the 2021 James Farrington Award. Congratulations to Tim Burttram of Big River Steel, and Hiranya Pathak and Ramesh Khajjayam of Primetals Technologies. Their thesis titled “Digital Substations and Process Bus for Steel Mills – Overview and Quantitative Assessment” was judged by the AIST Electrical Applications Technology Committee to be the best technical paper submitted for technical sessions or specialty conferences held throughout the year. This is the second year in a row that authors from Primetals Technologies have won this award.

Gerdau Powwow "EAF Control & Safety" – Virtual event

April 27, 2021

Electric steelmaking experts from different locations of Gerdau in Latin America and from Primetals Technologies virtually met in the Primetals Technologies Virtual Conference Center (VCC) to discuss how to improve EAF control and safety. The event offered inspiring keynote presentations and live demonstrations of state-of-the-art automation solutions at virtual booths at the “EAF Lab”. During networking breaks, participants could socialize with their avatars – like in a “Powwow” held by many North American indigenous communities. More Powwows will be organized by Gerdau and Primetals Technologies complementing their strategic partnership, which was signed at METEC in 2019.

International Steel Symposium – Virtual event

April 15 - 16, 2021

Visited by more than 1.800 iron & steel professionals, ISS, the first digital symposium by the Chamber of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers in Turkey, was a great success. The digital booths of every exhibitor were visited by at least 600 users and provided excellent networking opportunities by facilitating direct communication and networking opportunities. Primetals Technologies’ participation not only included the display of its comprehensive digitalization, technology, product and service portfolio at the booth, but also two presentations by our experts Thomas Steinparzer and Can Ergun.

Pioneers Connect 21 – Virtual event

Electric Steelmaking Process Optimization User Conference – Virtual event

February 2 - 4, 2021

With the help of the brand-new Primetals Technologies Virtual Conference Center (VCC) – a communication, collaboration and co-creation space for the metals industry - the very first “Electric Steelmaking Process Optimization User Conference” took place to discuss the future of electric steelmaking. The program was divided into keynotes and presentations as well as interactive sessions such as the “Optimization Lab” and the “EAF World Café”, making full use of the features provided by the VCC. Despite the conference being a virtual event, the participants were able to socialize and chat by having their avatars sit down between and after presentations in specially designed networking spaces.

Customer Connect Program – New Delhi, India

As an interactive and knowledge sharing symposium, the Customer Connect Program allowed our technology experts to share their know-how with attending customers and consultants. A 3D demonstration of EAF Quantum technology, presented by Mr. Martin Selzer, provided insights into a real-life project and an extensive view of a plant in operation. Further topics included New Generation Billet Caster, Smart Solutions for Small Capacity Rebar Mills, WinLink Solution and Metallurgical Services for Long Rolling.

Digitals Metals AI Hackathon – Vienna, Austria

January 16 - 17, 2020

More than a dozen teams from all over Europe competed in the Digital Metals AI Hackathon on four use cases contributed by Primetals Technologies and Voestalpine. Organized by Pioneers, the goal of the event was to develop innovative solutions for the topics Digital Twin Interaction & Visualization, AI-based Information Crawler, Automatic Generation of Requisitions, and Measuring Steel Pieces with a Mobil App. The teams of LocLabs (for VR & AR applications for metal production) and thinkers.ai (for crawling technology for technology scouting) each took home €3000 in prize money as winners of the Hackathon in the Primetals Technologies categories.

23rd Middle East Iron and Steel Conference – Dubai, UAE

December 9 - 11, 2019

The largest annual meeting of the steel industry in the Middle East featured 750 attendees from 351 companies representing 37 countries. Primetals Technologies participated with a pre-conference workshop centered around topics like digitalization and services in the iron & steel production, the trade-off between EAF and IF, producing API grades in flat rolling mills and more, a panel discussion on technology and innovation developments, and a technology presentation on the minimill flat of the future. Additionally, a team of experts was available to visitors for answering questions and providing further information about our comprehensive technology, modernization, product and service portfolio in one-on-one sessions.

Technology Day – Moscow, Russia

November 13, 2019

Primetals Technologies organized a conference dedicated to Industry 4.0 solutions for 50 invited top customers during Metal-Expo 2019 in Moscow, Russia. The main target was to discuss the digital transformation of the steel industry and the possibilities of switching to smart production. Taking place at the Metal-Expo 2019, the agenda not only included topics on digitalization, but also Metals Orchestra, Smart Solutions and the latest developments for Endless Strip Production. To top of the event, Primetals Technologies and CROC signed a strategic partnership in order to jointly develop solutions and special products for the digitalization of the metals industry.

Metal-Expo 2019 – Moscow, Russia

November 12 - 15, 2019

The most important annual trade fair for metals and mining in Russia took place for the 25th time. Primetals Technologies participated for the third time since 2017 and was able to present its extensive product and service portfolio to more than 28000 visitors from Russia and all around the world. More than 60 events such as seminars, conferences, roundtables and master classes were held during the four-day exhibition, focusing on production processes and technologies as well as scientific and technical developments in the field of metal processing.

Alacero-60 – Buenos Aires, Argentina

November 11 - 13, 2019

This year, one of the most important events for the Metals business in Latin America, Alacero-60, took place in Buenos Aires at Hotel Hilton. Attended by more than 600 participants and more than 200 companies, Primetals Technologies used the opportunity to meet new and existing business partners and present its newest technologies and innovations. More than 110 delegates from Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation visited this event organized by Primetals Technologies in Ha Tinh, Vietnam. At the workshop, attendees were able to gain comprehensive understanding of Primetals Technologies' latest innovations, technologies and performance covering diverse topics such as Ironmaking, Continuous Casting, ECO Solutions and many more, which can be considered for future expansion projects. Hyundai Steel Tech Show – Dangjin, South Korea

October 22 - 24, 2019

Under the slogan “Technology, One Way to Success” the Hyundai Steel Tech Show promoted outstanding technologies in Dangjin, South Korea. The three-day event provided Primetals Technologies, invited as VIP member of the opening ceremony, with the opportunity to introduce key developments and innovations focused on Digitalization – Industry 4.0 to 5000 visitors, including the CEO of Hyundai Steel, Tong-Il An. Various auxiliary events such as technical seminars, purchase counseling sessions and a tour of the Dangjin steel mill complemented the program.

2019 Midrex Operation Seminar in Dublin

October 14 - 17, 2019

Together with more than 100 attendees, Primetals Technologies was invited as sponsor and participant to the 2019 Midrex Operation Seminar to provide first-hand expertise to attending plant operators. At the event, Mr. Johannes Rothberger delivered a very well-received presentation on “Improving efficiency and effectiveness” with key topics such as Product Quality Conservation System and Waste Heat Recovery System for Top Gas and Reformer Flue Gas. Each year, Midrex organizes the week-long event for plant operators to meet with their counterparts and to interact and share their experience with engineers and technologists.

Customer Day by Primetals Technologies – Savigneux, France

October 10, 2019

Under the slogan “Products of the Future” Primetals Technologies organized a Customer Day at its workshop in Savigneux, France. After the opening address by Alfred Piesinger, CEO of Primetals Technologies , customers from fifteen different companies and seven countries had the opportunity to learn more about our latest key production equipment for Cold Rolling and Strip Processing Lines. Other presentations provided insight into Product Lifecycle through Services and products for a new generation of steel.

Additionally, the attendees took a close look at our latest products and technologies displayed at specifically prepared stands and various machines from Primetals Technologies France’s products portfolio including the new LW21H Heavy Laser Welder. There the customers were able to exchange thoughts with our attending experts, specialists and product managers about requirements and needs as well as the most recent developments and solutions.

Latin America’s largest event in the fields of metallurgy, materials, and mining, ABM Week 2019 attracted a record number of attendees with 1800 in São Paulo, Brazil. Primetals Technologies had the opportunity to present 15 papers and host a round table on “Robotics applied to the Mining and Metallurgical Industry.” Mr. Martin Hirschmanner, Head of Mechatronics in Linz, acted as keynote speaker for an audience of 200 visitors and invited them to visit the booth to discuss technologies in greater detail. During the event, which took place for the fifth time, Primetals Technologies gave the Automation and IT award to this year’s winning paper “Increased Maintenance Productivity at ArcelorMittal Tubarão” written by Alexandre Vellozo Santos, Antonio Carlos de Aguiar Gagno, Fabio Feu Rosa Valente and Igor Borlot Borba.

EFRS2019 International Iron & Steel Symposium – Izmir, Turkey

September 26 - 27, 2019

The EFRS 2019 International Iron & Steel Symposium took place for the seventh time at Tepekule Congress & Exhibition Centre in Izmir, Turkey. Organized by the Chamber of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers, the fair focused on topics such as Digitalization, Green Production Technologies, EAF Quantum, Arvedi ESP, and Bar & Wire Rod Mills and attracted more than 1250 visitors and 330 companies.

Primetals Technologies joined the event as its main sponsor for the second consecutive time and shared the latest developments on several topics at its booth and in ten presentations, covering Mini Mills for Flat Products, Industry 4.0, Emission Comparison between conventional and shaft-based Electric Arc Furnaces and much more. Dr. Martin Fleischer, Managing Director of Primetals Technologies , participated as one of three speakers at the events’ opening panel, which discussed worldwide trends in the metal industry, sustainability, and the global iron and steel industry compared to local conditions in Turkey.


Live-Presentation of Sinter Raw Mix Analyzer – Leoben, Austria

Several global plant operators had the chance to visit the sinter plant at voestalpine Stahl Donawitz in Leoben, Austria, and its newly developed Sinter Raw Mix Analyzer. The event was especially interesting to plant operators who wanted to optimize the productivity of their sinter plant and gain more flexibility in the selection of sinter raw materials - and the visitors were impressed by the benefits the Sinter Raw Mix Analyzer provides after seeing it first-hand. The robotic system was constructed by Primetals Technologies in close cooperation with voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH and Eirich Maschinenbau and follows a standardized and fully automated routine to analyze the sinter raw mix by taking sinter samples from the material discharge of the reciprocating belt conveyor.

Aluminum USA 2019 – Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A.

September 11 - 13, 2019

This event is the only trade show and conference in the US to cover the entire value chain from upstream (mining, smelting) via midstream (casting, rolling, extrusions) to downstream (finishing, fabrication). More than 1,900 aluminum industry professionals attended it. Visitors to the Primetals Technologies booth learned about the benefits of in-line shape measurement with the Air Bearing Shapemeter. This display unit demonstrated the advantages of this technology, including its accuracy and modular design. Attendees could also see a Technical Conference presentation by David Parkin about the benefits of removing excess coolant fluid from the extreme vertical edges of the strip.

Technology Day by Primetals Technologies at JSW Steel – Vijayanagar, India

The program at the Technology Day was inaugurated by Rajashekhar Pattanasetty, President JSW Vijayanagar Works, Umesh Rai, Sr. VP (Steel & Mills) JSW Vijayanagar Works, Vishwanath Suryanarayan, Sr. VP (Steel Making) JSW Vijayanagar Works and Subodh Kunte, CFO & ED Primetals Technologies . 103 delegates from JSW Steel in Vijayanagar, Dolvi and Salem participated in the Technology Day. The interactive and knowledge sharing sessions at the event were presented by experts from Primetals Technologies who came from Linz, Stockton, Hiroshima, Mumbai and Kolkata. They bring the experience and knowledge which JSW Steel requires. Next to presentations about sustainability, environmentally friendly solutions, digitalization and automation, also summed up by the term "Industry 4.0," the topics focused on robotics and mechatronics, as well as developments in ironmaking, steelmaking and many more.   


Aluminium China 2019 – Shanghai, China  

July 10 - 12, 2019

As the largest Aluminium exhibition in China, this is a must-attend industry event, which once again lived up to expectations. The event provided Primetals Technologies with the opportunity for existing and potential customers to meet our knowledgeable staff and learn more about Primetals Technologies’ comprehensive product and service portfolio for the aluminium industry. At the booth visitors were able to enjoy several interactive exhibits including a full size, working Air Bearing Shapemeter (ABSM) which provides accurate on-line shape measurement of flat rolled sheet and foil materials. Also popular was a Virtual Reality mill tour which gave visitors the opportunity to experience up-close our 4 stand hot finishing mill. Another eye-catcher was the holographic display of our 6 hi cold mill technology.


Technology Day by Primetals Technologies at Tata Steel – Jamshedpur, India

This event, organized by Primetals Technologies, was attended by 70 delegates from Tata Steel Jamshedpur as well as Tata Steel BSL. In addition, 9 delegates from Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing & Processing Co. Private Limited participated in the Technology Day. The presentations were in line with Primetals Technologies’ latest focus areas such as sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions, the digitalization of all production-related processes, advanced automation as summed up by the term “Industry 4.0,” and many more. The sessions at the Technology Day were presented by technology experts from different locations of Primetals Technologies such as Linz, Stockton, Hiroshima, Mumbai and Kolkata. The experts have extensive knowledge in these fields which meets the specific requirements of Tata Steel. 


Emerging Technologies in Blast Furnaces & its Auxiliary Systems – Ranchi, India 

June 28 - 29, 2019

This international conference was organized by TCASP in Ranchi, India. TCASP, standing for Technical Consultancy & Support Services Private Limited, is a new consulting group consisting of experienced professionals. Next to Primetals Technologies, SAIL CET, RDCIS, MECON and SAIL plants participated in the conference. During the event Partha Pratim Das presented a paper on the “Advantages and Disadvantages of the Installation of a 4th Stove within an existing Blast Furnace System” for Primetals Technologies. Overall, the conference provided a good outlook for the future of Ironmaking and the route that Blast Furnace Systems will take in the Indian steel industry.

METEC 2019 – Düsseldorf, Germany 

June 25 - 29, 2019

Every four years, a “who’s who” of the metals industry gathers in Düsseldorf, Germany, for its most significant event: the METEC - International Metallurgical Trade Fair with Congresses. Thousands of visitors entered our booth in hall 4 each day to experience the Steel City, our interactive, animated object, which conveyed a detailed vision of the steel plant of the future. The Future Lab, a set of workstations manned with experts of various fields, attracted visitors interested in the specifics. And finally, the Pioneers Lounge proved to be a great venue for Primetals Technologies’ press briefing, as well as a host of talks and panel discussions. At the ESTAD 2019 conference, which runs alongside the trade fair, Primetals Technologies presented 46 papers

7th World DRI & Pellet Congress – Dubai, United Arab Emirates 

June 18 - 19, 2019

This yearly event in Dubai was very well attended with around 90 participants, all of them specialists in the field of pelletizing and direct reduction in the Middle East. One of the main discussions during this event was the increased iron ore and pellet price and the resulting effect on the producers of iron for which Primetals Technologies offers the suitable technical solutions. Besides being a sponsor of this event and having a booth, Primetals Technologies also held two presentations – one about the direct reduction called “Are your direct reduction plants fit for the future?“ by Johannes Rothberger and a speech about “Pelletizing technology at its prime” done by Christoph Aichinger. The response of the audience was very positive and a lot of technical discussions were held with our specialists afterwards at the booth.

The Second Electric Steelmaking Forum – Beijing, China

May 24 - 25, 2019

Over 525 representatives from the government, steelmaking corporations, electric furnace manufacturers, research institutes, and media participated in the forum. Our experts held a presentation on the “Comparison of Emissions between Conventional and Shaft-Type EAFs” in the plenary session, where Hannes Beile presented the solutions for emission reduction and compared the emissions of different Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) types. Moreover, he also held a speech in the parallel sessions on high-efficient minimills.

8th Made in Steel Conference and Exhibition – Rho, Italy

May 14 - 16, 2019

Held every other year, Made in Steel has grown to become the Southern Europe’s premier trade show dedicated to the steel supply chain. The title of the 8th edition was Steel Human - Sustainability and Innovation. More than 300 companies were represented at the exhibition and the number of participants topped 16,000. Primetals Technologies had its own booth designed and built on a 110 sqm footprint, with large monitors featuring project and image videos. A virtual reality unit was set up along with a demo station with OsciChecker and Billet Mold Checker (long / slab) devices. Italian-localized versions of Primetals Technologies’ Image and Metals Orchestra brochures had been prepared for the occasion and made available at the booth, where Primetals Technologies representatives greeted visitors, entertained existing and prospective customers and delivered some technical presentations.

Berliner Konferenz Mineralische Nebenprodukte und Abfälle – Berlin, Germany 

May 13 - 14, 2019

This yearly conference is a major event for the German-speaking community for mineral by-products such as the steel, cement, and waste incineration industries and governmental organizations. About 350 participants joined this two day event. Primetals Technologies, together with its partners voestalpine and Loesche, was invited to hold a keynote lecture of one hour. The lecture held by Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl, Technology Officer & Head of ECO Solutions at Primetals Technologies, was focusing on innovations around the steel industry. The main points were the Blast Furnace Dry Slag Granulation, the ZEWA slag valorization approach and the mobilization of hydraulic active phases in BOF slags for the cement industry.

AISTech 2019 Conference and Exposition – Pittsburgh, PA, USA 

May 6 - 8, 2019

More than 8,000 metals industry professionals from 38 countries attended AISTech 2019 to learn about the latest trends in iron- and steel-making. At the technical conference, Primetals Technologies presented 30 papers on the pioneering technologies that are moving the metals industry forward. At the exposition, the Primetals Technologies booth featured a scale model of the Arvedi ESP (Endless Strip Production) line that will be supplied to the United States Steel Corporation for its Edgar Thomson Plant in Braddock, Pennsylvania.

15th Minisymposium Verfahrenstechnik – Leoben, Austria

With a long tradition and its aim to connect chemical engineers all over Austria, the Montanuniversity Leoben organized the 15th Minisymposium Verfahrenstechnik and invited Primetals Technologies to contribute by presenting its research work from academia. Dr. Thomas Steinparzer, Head of Technology & Innovation of ECO Solutions, started his presentation with a short overview of Primetals Technologies and then introduced our pioneering new technology dry slag granulation that recovers lost heat energy of blast furnace slag. International High-end Forum – Wu Han, China

April 23 - 25, 2019

2019 High-end international forum on near-net shape manufacturing technology, jointly organized by the Chinese Society for Metals, Hubei Society for Metals, China BaoWu Steel Group and Chinese Academy of Engineering, was successfully convened from April 23rd – 25th, 2019 in Wuhan. More than 300 experts and scholars from Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and domestic metallurgical industry attended the meeting, and focused on “Green Manufacturing and Ecological Development” to discuss near-net shape manufacturing technology represented by TSCR, thin strip casting and rolling. At the event, Mr. Andreas Jungbauer delivered a keynote speech “Arvedi ESP’s maturity Real Endless Strip Production” at the plenary session.


Implementation of Industry Standard 4.0 in the Steel Industry – Ranchi, India

Nearly 100 delegates from various manufacturing and consulting companies in India participated in this workshop. The event was jointly organized by Primetals Technologies and MECON Limited, a government owned metals consultancy firm.  It was a significant opportunity for us to show the last developments on solutions for Smart Plants as well as share the Indian steel producers expertise and point of view about the future of the metallurgical industry. Our participation focused mainly on two topics: “The Digitalization of the Metals Industry” presented by Dr Peter Juza and “Through Process Optimization" presented by Dr Jan Friedemann Plaul. 22nd Middle East Iron and Steel Conference – Dubai, UAE

VAiron BF Process Optimization – Linz, Austria

The first Primetals Technologies user conference on VAiron blast furnace process optimization was held in Linz this year. 17 blast furnace specialists from companies using the VAiron blast furnace process optimization system (Level 2 automation) participated in the meeting: Process specialists, automation experts, blast furnace and ironmaking managers. Target of the meeting was to collect feedback how our process optimization system is used in the different plants and to jointly develop ideas for improvement of the system.

 

National Metallurgists' Day and Annual Technical Meeting 2018 – Kolkata, India

November 14 - 16, 2018

In mid-November Primetals Technologies participated in the 56th National Metallurgists' Day (NMD) and the 72nd Annual Technical Meeting (ATM) in Kolkata, India. NMD-ATM is an annual mega event of the Indian Institute of Metals where metallurgists and material engineers from the industry and academia participate and share their experience of various aspects of metallurgical and materials engineering.  Primetals Technologies’ CEO Satoru Iijima together with colleagues from Europe and India participated in the event. Primetals Technologies presented two technical papers featuring the topics “Metals Orchestra - Instruments for the Digital Era of Steel” and “Blast furnace modernization and rebuild – Solutions from Primetals Technologies”. In addition, two e-posters introduced the “Latest Improvements in Shaft Based Scrap Preheating Furnaces (Quantum)” and “WGR and MEROS system – Integrated state of the art sinter gas cleaning” in the event.

The Metal-Expo 2018 – 24th Industrial Exhibition is an important event for the Russian and CIS Steel Industry and its related business fields. All leading Russian Steel companies as well as steel products manufacturers and equipment suppliers from Russia, Europe and Asia exhibited on the fairgrounds in Moscow. Primetals Technologies participated at the Metal-Expo for the 2nd time since 2017 as this fair is an excellent platform to meet Top Level management and decision-makers. Main topics of discussion were general Russian and global market trends and new project ideas which are mainly driven by the good financial results of the Russian steel industry in 2017/18.

Alacero-59 – Cartagena, Colombia

November 5 - 7, 2018

The main theme discussed throughout the Alacero-59 Congress was the concern about increased imports and declining exports in the region, despite the prospect of ending 2018 growing slightly in crude steel production in Latin America in comparison to 2017. Among the topics discussed in the Congress are the challenges and opportunities of automation. Rizwan Janjua, Chief Technology Officer from World Steel, shared the advantages of industry 4.0 and reflected about things that cannot be automated, such as human skills: critical thinking and creativity.

 

Hyundai Steel – Dangjin, Korea

October 17 - 18, 2018

The 2nd Tech Forum together with Hyundai Steel, 2nd steel player in S. Korea, was held at Hyundai Steel Dangjin works R&D center in October. At the Tech Forum Primetals Technologies presented the latest developed solutions in all portfolios and specially Primetals Technologies’ Digitalization to Hyundai Steel researchers and operators in the following areas: “Iron making, BOF steel making, Electric steel making, Continuous casting, Hot rolling, cold rolling, Processing line and Industrie 4.0” at the first day of event. On second day, Hyundai Steel and Primetals discussed the current operation and facilities status in-depth and shared the vision to be a strategic partner in the area of iron & steel production.

 

8th European Oxygen Steelmaking Conference (EOSC) – Taranto, Italy

October 10 - 12, 2018

The European Oxygen Steelmaking Conference (EOSC) series is organized in turn by one of the European Metallurgical Societies and Associations. This year’s conference was organized in Italy, Taranto by AIM. The conference focused on the latest development in oxygen steelmaking, secondary metallurgy, plant operation experience improving steel quality and environmental protection.

200 participants from Europe and Asia joined the conference, where 55 papers were presented. Primetals Technologies speakers presented 7 lectures on several BOF topics, including BOF revamp projects, innovations, gas cleaning, robotics, automation and eco solutions. The topics presented and the discussions held clearly showed an upward trend for BOF operators resulting in good plant utilization, reasonable profitability and an increase in investment volume.

 

Aluminium 2018 – Düsseldorf, Germany

October 9 - 11 , 2018

Aluminium 2018, once again took place in Düsseldorf and organizers report that the event was close to breaking records with 24,148 trade visitors from 123 nations attending.  Perhaps reflecting increasing developments in the international Aluminium markets, the fair featured 971 exhibitors from 54 nations.

The event theme was digitalization and this provided Primetals Technologies with the opportunity for existing and potential customers to learn more about its Industry 4.0 solutions and comprehensive technologies. Knowledgeable staff were on hand to inform visitors of Primetals Technologies’ full product and service portfolio for the aluminium industry.

ABM WEEK 2018 – Sao Paulo, Brazil

October 2 - 4, 2018

The ABM WEEK  2018 Conference and Exposition, Latin America’s largest steel industry trade fair attracted nearly 1,700 producers, suppliers, corporate leaders, and academia from 23 countries.

At the conference, technical sessions, paper presentations and panel discussions provided insight into the technologies and trends that are shaping the future of iron and steel production. Primetals Technologies gave 13 presentations and participated in a panel discussion (main  Plenary “Industry 4.0 : Big Data Analytics for Process Optimization” to an audience of more than 600 attendees). Primetals Technologies was Gold Sponsor of the 8th International Congress on Science and Technology of Ironmaking  (ICSTI) 2018 with 300 participants from more than 25 nations all over the world. The Congress provided a forum for best practice and state-of-the-art technology in the field of ironmaking including environmental control & improvements as well as automation & digitalization. It also gave a look at developments in the foreseeable future. The ICSTI 2018 was a great congress with a very high scientific level. Primetals Technologies speakers presented 6 lectures in the field of blast furnace technology, direct reduction, energy efficiency, automation and process simulation. There were also several papers for this event co-authored by Primetals Technologies (eg. on Finex technology).

SteelVia – Global Steel Innovation Forum – Dubai, UAE

SteelVia – The Global Innovation Forum is a new conference and exhibition platform that took place for the first time in Dubai. Dr. Etsuro Hirai the Global CTO & President of Primetals Technologies Japan had the honor of welcoming the audience with his keynote speech “The Inevitability of Innovation — Sustainable Steel Production and Current Megatrends Shaping the Industry”. The two day event held from the 25th to the 27th of September was attended by 600 participants visiting about 57 exhibitors to get an insight on disruptive and cutting-edge technological innovations in the steel and associated sector. Primetals Technologies presented its portfolio and innovations in the fields of digitalization, minimills, converter steelmaking, long rolling, gas fermentation, FINEX® and ESP in 8 technical presentations and was also present with a booth.

17th International Stainless and Special Steel Summit – Helsinki, Finland

The Conference was well attended by about 200 delegates with a good mixture of producers, distributors and consumers. All major European producers (Outokumpu, Aperam, Acerinox, Sandivk) as well as some Asian producers were present. The presented topics included Market growth and outlook, Nickel pig iron (NPI), Digitalization and Major risks for the Stainless Steel industry.

MMMM 2018 at – Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India

Primetals Technologies was awarded a commendation in Excellence Design & Concept – National Sector for the booth at the 12th International Exhibition & Conference on Minerals, Metals, Metallurgy & Materials – MMMM 2018 . At the Consultants Day on Primetals Technologies Developments and Achievements in Agglomeration and Iron Making Primetals Technologies presented its portfolio and references to the consultants in India in the following areas: "Waste Gas Recirculation, new development & innovations on Sinter Plant, bringing focus on PT straight grate Pelletizing Technology", "Primetals Technologies Agglomeration Project references in India" and "COREX®, FINEX® and MIDREX® technology". In a technology panel discussion titled “The Evolution of Steel Plant Design,” Ron Devoe, Vice President of Sale for Primetals Technologies, gave a presentation about Arvedi ESP technology  With a creative and memorable use of video, Mr. Devoe engaged the audience and heightened their understanding of this pioneering technology.

SEAISI 2018 Conference and Exhibition – Jakarta, Indonesia

SMR's Asian Stainless Steel Forum – Shanghai, China

June 27 - 28, 2018

SMR Asia Stainless Steel Summit is a very important event in stainless steel and special steel industry in Asia with focus on China. This year’s conference was on “One Belt, One Road”, which indirectly impacts the stainless steel business landscape. More than 180 participants joined the conference ranging from stainless steel producers, distributors, raw material suppliers to technology providers. Many large stainless steel producers such as TISCO, Fuxin, ZPSS, Beihai Chengde, JISCO, ZPSS, Aperam, Outukumpo, Thyssen-Krupp, Cogne were present. Following the One Belt, One Road initiatives, many Chinese companies are making investments abroad, especially in Indonesia, due to the available valuable Ni-ore there. As stainless steelmaking market leader, Primetals Technologies used this event to promote company business. A presentation about our new solution - TPO (Through-Process Optimization for best quality and highest output at lowest cost of steel plants) was held by Dr. Y. Zhai to promote this innovation for stainless steel producers.

 

 

The 98th Meeting of ISIJ / Plant Technology Committee – Hiroshima, Japan

Primetals Technologies, Ltd. was in preparation and operation as a host company for the event sponsored by the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan (ISIJ). Approximately 150 people from steel companies participated in the meeting, and presentations on transitions and challenges of the plant technologies related to ironmaking, steelmaking and rolling were presented on the first day. On the second day, as a special lecturer of the equipment supplier, Dr. Alexander Fleischanderl (Technology Officer Up-stream) from Primetals Technologies  delivered a lecture on energy conservation, environmental-friendly technologies and digitalization, corresponding to the sustainable future of the steel industry, under the title of "Creating a Sustainable Future for Steel".

 

Invent Arena, International Inventors Exhibition – Třinec, Czech Republic

The event took place in Trinec which lies in the regional center of metal industry in Czech Republic. Primetals Technologies had a booth at Invent Arena  showing innovative solutions and smart applications, distributing Metals magazines  and  promotional  leaflets to  the visitors.  Most of the visitors came to the Primetals Technologies booth from the metal companies belonging to the group of Trinecke zelezarny-Moravia Steel, the largest metal group in Czech Republic. The biggest interest was shown to solutions as Dry Slag Granulation, WinLink, Process Expert software or Bio Fermentation technologies.

 

 

MiningWorld Central Asia – Astana, Kazakhstan

​Showcasing Primetals Technologies as the technology provider for the mining and ironmaking industry and engaging with potential new customers were the company's main goals for this year's World Mining Congress and affiliated tradeshow Mining World Central Asia. Booth visitors were especially interested in Primetals Technologies' hot briquetted iron direct reduction plants, beneficiation technologies such as the hybrid flotation cell, and pelletizing solutions. In addition, a paper was presented to promote the company's beneficiation and direct reduction technologies. Participating in this congress provided new insights into the dynamically developing central Asian region and a chance to check out potential business opportunities for the growing market of mining technology.

WMM’18 – 8th International Conference Magnetism and Metallurgy – Dresden, Germany

WMM brings together electrical engineers, who are engaged in applications of magnetic materials, research groups working on the development of magnetic materials, experts from the producer of magnetic materials as well as scientists from universities. Primetals Technologies presented the latest developments in fields of Hot-rolling, Cold-rolling and ESP for production of modern Si Electrical steels. The topics of Primetals Technologies presentations were “Solutions for Plant & Performance Improvement for Thin and Ultrathin High-Si Electrical Steel” and “Status, achievements and outlooks of endless steel strip production with a focus on electrical steels”

 

 

HBIS-Primetals 3rd Technology Summit – Shijiazhuang City, China

June 12 - 13, 2018

More than 200 management and technical experts from HBIS Group and subsidiaries participated in this event, while around 40 people from Primetals Technologies joined this Summit. Chairman Yu Yong of HBIS Group attended the opening session and delivered an opening speech. Mr. Aashish Gupta (Chief Sales Officer of Primetals Technologies) delivered an opening speech and a keynote speech. The theme of the Technology Summit was “Facing Made-in-China-2025”. There were 5 breakout sessions in parallel and experts from both Primetals Technologies and HBIS presented the latest technologies and developments, in total 58 papers were presented. Primetals Technologies and HBIS Group signed Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement in February, 2018 and the 3rd Technology Summit was held under the framework agreement.

 

 

Future Steel Forum – Warsaw, Poland

The Future Steel Forum is a steel industry-specific conference that was focused entirely on the subject of Industry 4.0 and its relationship to steel production. During the two day program approximately 200 conference visitors listened to presentations covering artificial intelligence, cyber security and ideas how the steel industry is approaching digitalization. Primetals Technologies was present with a booth focusing on our digital portfolio and life demo systems for Through-Process Quality Control (TPQC) and the Process Expert for Long Rolling solutions. Besides different steel companies like Arcelor Mittal, US Steel, Tata Steel and others, also companies from the software business were attending in a considerable number (e.g. SAP, IBM, Accenture). Furthermore, Mr. Wolfgang Oberaigner (Head of TPQC) presented our new Through-Process Optimization solution in front of an interested audience. The conference was a successful platform to exchange different ideas and digitalization concepts for the steel industry.

Russian & CIS Metals & Mining Summit – Moscow, Russia

150+ representatives from metallurgical, mining, logistics, engineering, finance, legal and many other companies have gathered in Moscow to participate in the Russian & CIS Metals & Mining Summit. Over 40 speakers have held interesting presentations and took part in discussions of the event.
Our own Johannes Rothberger (Technical Sales – Direct Reduction) held a very well-attended presentation on “LGOK III – One year of successful operation of the Midrex HBI plant” including topics such as "What was the start up curve of the LGOK 3 plant and how is the plant performance now?", "Trends in the steel industry and impact to the HBI market" and "How does the business case for an HBI producer in Russia look like?".

Technology Day at SIJ ACRONI d.o.o. – Slovenia, Jesenice

Primetals Technologies conducted a full day of technical presentations to Acroni’s experts in the field of steel meltshop including CCM, HRM, CRM, R&D, project management and process automation. Acroni, one of the world leading producers of stainless steel, wear resistant, high tensile, tool and other special steel quarto plates, showed big interest during the Industry 4.0 discussions as well as steckel mill automation, where the emphasize was put on specific benefits about neural network, multipoint setup, and camera systems for strip steering. With various video clips and simulations, different solutions related to SENDZIMIR rolling mill, EA upgrades, continuous casting upgrade packages and meltshop automation (incl. logistics and production planning) were also presented and discussed. Furthermore, the Primetals Technologies’ eService platform m.space and the current eServices in the areas of spare parts, document management, e-learning and condition monitoring were also presented in order to increase efficiency and productivity by spare part processing or predictive maintenance.

 

AISTech 2018 Conference and Exposition – Philadelphia, PA, USA

Nearly 6,000 attendees learned about the latest trends in iron- and steel-making. At the technical conference, the experts and management team from Primetals Technologies presented 27 papers on the technologies that are moving the metals industry forward. 6th International Steel Industry & Production Technologies Conference Istanbul, Turkey

May 9, 2018

The event had more than 80 participants, most of which were Turkish steel producers, component manufacturers, and from associated fields to the iron- and steelmaking industry such as logistics, trade, magazines and public governmental affairs. Primetals Technologies’ speech by Kurt Herzog on the topic ‘How Digitalization can boost Quality, Productivity and Flexibility in Steel Production’ was received with great interest by the audience. The presentation focused on ‘strategic goals’ of steel producers, such as cost competitiveness or new steel grade production. Different Industry 4.0 solutions in Production Management System, Through Process Automation, Computerized Maintenance Systems, continuous recording, supervision of quality parameters, were among others topics discussed. At the booth, Primetals Technologies visitors enjoyed several interactive exhibits such as 3-D animations of Quantum EAF, cold rolling facilities, pickling lines and the virtual visit to Brazil in one of the plants built by Primetals Technologies at Copacabana. Another eye-catcher were the 3-D effects on Primetals Technologies regular layout printouts which shows a plant being built right in front of the observer.

 

2018 International Symposium on Thin Slab Casting and Direct Rolling – Wuhan, China

TSCR 2018, jointly organized by the Chinese Society for Metals, China BaoWu Steel Group and Chinese Academy of Engineering, was successfully convened from April 25th – 27th, 2018 in Wuhan. The technical experts and scholars from domestic and abroad discussed thin slab / strip casting and rolling technologies. As sponsor of the event, Mr. Andreas Jungbauer (PTAT) delivered a keynote speech “The History – Presence – and Future of Thin Slab  Casting and Rolling” at the plenary session and Mr. Thomas Lengauer (PTAT) made a technical presentation “Achievements at Rizhao Steels’s New ESP Complex Setting New Standards” at the parallel session.

The first China Electric Steelmaking Forum – Beijing, China

April 16 - 17, 2018

The first China Electric Steelmaking Forum was successfully convened on April 17th, 2018 in Beijing by the Chinese Society for Metals (CSM). Over 450 representatives from government, steelmaking corporations, electric furnace manufacturers, investment and financing institutes, colleges, research institutes and media, participated in this forum. X. International Industrial Forum Chelyabinsk – Chelyabinsk, Russia
