Chinese steel producer Angang Ltd. has awarded the final acceptance certificate to Primetals Technologies for a comprehensive automation upgrade at its plate mill in Bayuquan, Liaoning province, China. State-of-the-art process models improve flatness and profile quality, enabling thicknesses down to five millimeters.

Chinese silicon steel producer Fujian Kebao Metal Products, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sanbao Group, has recently placed an order with Primetals Technologies for a continuous tandem cold mill (CTCM). The new mill will be used to produce high-grade silicon steel, supporting Sanbao Group’s goal of becoming a leading provider of high-quality silicon steel and associated services in China.

A new bloom caster will be implemented at a steel producer in Northeastern China to produce high-quality blooms for rail and wire rod production. The caster will feature an extensive automation solution and the largest curved copper tube mold ever supplied by Primetals Technologies.

Chinese steel producer HBIS XuanHua Iron and Steel Group and Primetals Technologies have recently started up a slab caster with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons at a low-carbon-emission production facility in China. Primetals Technologies supplied the full mechanical scope along with complete Level 1 and 2 automation systems.

Primetals Technologies has recently completed an installation at Baoshan Iron and Steel in Shanghai, China, for a new combination mill featuring both a wire rod mill outlet and bar-in-coil line. The new mill is specifically designed to increase rolling mill capacity and expand size range.
