ArcelorMittal orders blast furnace copper staves for steel plants in Bremen and Gent
ArcelorMittal has ordered new copper staves from Primetals Technologies for its steel plants in Bremen and Gent. The Gent copper staves feature Primetals Technologies’ well-proven anti-bending solution. The technology prevents stave corner bending caused by thermal effects and stave bending in the area of pipe connections.

Innovative process optimization and quality control solution implemented at steel producer in the Americas
Brazilian steel producer Gerdau recently implemented a comprehensive process optimization and quality control solution from Primetals Technologies at the continuous slab caster No. 3 in its integrated steel plant in Ouro Branco, Brazil. The new systems are operated on virtualized servers through a software subscription model.

New LD converter (BOF) boosts productivity for ArcelorMittal Zenica
In Autumn 2022, Bosnian steel producer ArcelorMittal Zenica started up a new 125-ton LD converter (BOF), supplied by Primetals Technologies, at its plant in Zenica, Bosnia Herzegovina. As part of the project, engineers at Primetals Technologies have optimized the vessel shape, resulting in an increase in converter reaction volume by almost 30 percent.
