Pakistani rebar steel producer Kamran Steel Re-Rolling Mills (Pvt) Ltd. (Kamran Steel) has placed an order with Primetals Technologies to modernize the company´s existing rebar mill in Lahore. The projects marks phase 1 of a three-phase expansion plan.

Feralpi Siderurgica S.p.A., part of the Italian Feralpi Group, placed an order with Primetals Technologies to revamp the six-strand billet caster in its Lonato del Garda works in Italy.

In December 2017, the stainless-steel continuous slab caster modernized by Primetals Technologies was started up at Outokumpu’s production site in Tornio, Finland. The aims of the project were to increase the annual production capacity of slabs and to enable thicker slabs of austenitic grades to be cast at high speed.

Chinese steel producer Henan Yaxin Steel Group Co., Ltd. (Henan Yaxin) has placed an order with Primetals Technologies for the supply of an Arvedi ESP (Endless Strip Production) line. The casting-rolling facility will be part of a new steelmaking facility currently under construction in Fuding City, Fujian province .

Tangshan Iron and Steel Group Co. Ltd., a Chinese steel producer, has awarded Primetals Technologies an order to further expand the existing condition monitoring system (CMS), which was also implemented by Primetals Technologies, in cold rolling mill no. 2 at its Tangshan plant in Hebei Province.
