MEROS® – Maximized emission reduction of sintering and pelletizing

MEROS is a waste-water-free process for removing pollutant concentrations such as dust and harmful metallic and organic components from the sinter offgas. Through a series of treatment steps, the technology achieves levels previously unattained with conventional gas-treatment techniques. 

SCR DeNOx Plants for reducing NOx

Primetals Technologies offers highly efficient selective catalytic reaction (SCR) solutions for maximum reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions for both new and existing sinter gas cleaning applications.

Room and secondary dedusting for sinter and pelletizing plants

Aside from primary offgas treatment, it is also essential to have ambient conditions in a sinter plant that ensure a safe working environment. The proper design and location of hoods is essential to achieve the highest dust collection. CFD calculations help to design optimized dust capture and flow distribution in the hoods.

MERIM® - Maximized emission reduction and energy recovery

Casthouse and stockhouse dedusting for blast furnaces

For the offgas treatment, the exhaust system collects dust laden air from the widely distributed off-take points. An important factor in the dedusting logistics is optimum dimensioning of the ductwork and the damper system to compensate pressure losses and thus reduce fan power requirements. To optimize the arrangement, advanced CFD calculations are carried out to support the design calculations.

WDS – Wet dedusting system for LD (BOF)

Wet dedusting systems are considered simpler in terms of operation and control. Primetals Technologies offers two proven and reliable technologies which are both optimized to ensure maximum dedusting efficiencies and the lowest energy requirements possible.

DDS – Dry dedusting system for LD (BOF)

Primetals Technologies’ solutions for converter offgas cleaning focus on highly efficient gas cleaning, high energy efficiency and maximum availability. For around ten years now, the dry dedusting process has become state-of-the-art technology for maximum gas cleaning efficiency and minimum energy consumption for primary offgas in LD (BOF) converters.

SDS – Secondary dedusting system

The main task of a secondary dedusting system is to efficiently capture dust emissions that occur during the handling and processing of hot metal and liquid steel. The proper design and location of hoods is essential to achieve the highest dust efficiency and ensure clean ambient conditions inside and outside the steel shop. A major process improvement is the patented Primetals Technologies peak cooler technology which enables efficient gas cooling during hot metal charging.

Dedusting system for electric arc furnaces

These proven solutions are characterized by effective cleaning and cooling of the offgas, and compliance with stringent environmental emission regulations.

AOD Dedusting Systems

This solutions are based on the same highly efficient gas cleaning technology as EAF Dedusting Systems. Both systems apply complete combustion of the furnace offgas for zero carbon monoxide emissions.

Our solution
Thyssen Krupp expanded to the Americas and set up a greenfield steel plant in Santa Cruz near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Primetals Technologies supplied state of the art dedusting systems for the entire steel shop. The LD (BOF) primary dedusting features a heat recovery system with steam generation, the first dry type dedusting system in all South- and North America plus a gas recovery system. 
The plant was commissioned in 2010.
