Primetals Technologies modernized continuous heat treatment line no. 2 at the Ranshofen plant of the aluminum producer AMAG rolling GmbH and brought it into operation on schedule in August 2019. Primetals Technologies replaced the outmoded open- and closed-loop controls for the strip transport and furnace, switchgear, cables and sensor technology, and also added control containers and hydraulic components.

Last year, Constellium's Rolled Products plant in Singen, issued the final acceptance certicates (FAC) for two tandem cold mills modernized by Primetals Technologies at its production facility in Singen, Germany. The targets of the modernization project were to improve strip quality parameters, enhance productivity and modernize the automation system, thus improving availability and repeatability.

Primetals Technologies will supply BaoWu Aluminium Technology Ltd., (BaoWu)  a combined aluminum hot rolling mill for the production of heavy plate and strip. Part of BaoWu Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd, the highest profile steel producer in China this is the first major investment by BaoWu, following their acquisition of Henan Tongren Aluminium Industry Co. Ltd. and is a clear demonstration of their commitment to the aluminum sector. The new rolling mill will be built in Sanmenxia, in the Henan province, and have an annual production capacity of 300,000 metric tons.

Primetals Technologies has received an order from Ulsan Aluminum  Ltd., a Korean aluminum producer, to supply new automation technology to the company's hot rolling mill and cold rolling mill no. 2 in Ulsan in the southeast of Korea.

Chinese steel maker Chengde Steel Vanadium Titanium cold-rolled sheets Co, Ltd. (Chengde Steel) has placed an order with Primetals Technologies to supply a continuous pickling line (CPL) and a continuous galvanizing line (CGL) for a new cold rolling and processing plant to be built in the company´s location in Chengde, Hebei Province.
