Recently, Brazilian steel producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) ordered a new relining machine from Primetals Technologies for its steel mill located in Pecém, a city in the state of Ceará, in north-eastern Brazil.

Primetals Technologies to supply ArcelorMittal with two LD converters (BOFs)
ArcelorMittal recently placed an order with Primetals Technologies for two new LD converters (BOFs) at its steel plant in Dunkirk, located in the northern part of France. Primetals Technologies will replace one of the existing LD converters, which has reached the end of its lifetime. The other new LD converter will be held on stock in Dunkirk for later installation.

Primetals Technologies to convert a continuous tandem line into a pickling tandem line at voestalpine’s steel plant
Primetals Technologies has received a contract from voestalpine Stahl GmbH, a company of the Steel Division of voestalpine AG, to convert the existing continuous tandem line into a pickling tandem line at voestalpine’s site in Linz. The package includes core components, process machinery, and their integration into the existing plant.

Turkish metals producer Ege Çelìk to upgrade wire rod mill with Primetals Technologies
Metals producer Ege Çelìk Endüstrisi Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. has contracted with Primetals Technologies for upgrades to its wire rod mill in İzmir, Turkey. The addition of a new wire rod outlet will expand its valueadded product range for markets in Turkey and Europe, with greater capability for surface finish quality and dimensional tolerance in its wire rod products. Thermomechanical rolling will improve drawability while reducing overall heat treatment costs. Commissioning for the new wire rod outlet is expected in summer 2023.
