Primetals Technologies sells three high-speed wire rod mills to Chinese customer
To consolidate its market position by upgrading its existing production capacity, a customer in the People’s Republic of China has signed a contract with Primetals Technologies for three high-speed wire rod mills in the northern region. The new mills improved thermo-mechanical rolling capabilities will complement additional mills moving into the company’s main production base. Start-up is expected in mid- to late 2020.

Primetals Technologies sells steel rod mill to HBIS Shijiazhuang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.
To comply with environmental regulations and improve production, HBIS Shijiazhuang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has signed a contract with Primetals Technologies for a new steel rod mill in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, People’s Republic of China. The plant, which is being relocated from within Shijiazhuang City limits because of environmental protection rules, will feature high-capacity Morgan Reducing Sizing Mill (RSM) technology for thermo-mechanical rolling of larger diameter products. Start-up is expected in late 2020.

Primetals Technologies receives final acceptance for modernized rolling mill at JSW Steel
Recently, Primetals Technologies received the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) for the modernized rolling mill for long products at JSW Steel Ltd. in Salem, India. The core of the modernization project was the new reversing roughing group with Red Ring stands, which enables to increase the size of the blooms to be processed to 220 mm. This consequently enables to extend the range of rolled products, both in terms of size and grade.

Primetals Technologies sells stainless steel combination mill to Walsin Yantai
To service greater China market demand for high-quality stainless steel products, Walsin Yantai Stainless Steel Co. Ltd. has contracted with Primetals Technologies to design and manufacture a new stainless steel combination mill to convert billets from an existing plant into finished products with precision tolerance and surface quality. In-line-processing will lower production costs. Start-up is expected in late 2020.

Primetals Technologies sells second mill to Chinese specialty steel producer
To expand capacity in high-end automotive grades, Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd. has signed a contract with Primetals Technologies for a high-speed wire rod mill to be built in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province, China. This is the second mill Beiman Special Steel has purchased from Primetals Technologies.
