Power X-HI stainless steel tandem cold mill from Primetals Technologies produces first coil at Beihai Chengde
In late December 2015, a stainless steel continuous tandem cold mill (TCM) supplied by Primetals Technologies to Beihai Chengde Stainless Steel Co. (Beihai Chengde) produced the first coil at the Beihai plant in the Chinese Guangxi Province.

Brazilian steel producer Gerdau has issued the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) for a new Steckel mill supplied by Primetals Technologies for its Ouro Branco production site in the state of Minas Gerais.

Primetals Technologies extends intensive cooling section on ThyssenKrupp hot strip mill
Primetals Technologies has completed work for ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG on expanding the intensive cooling section of hot strip mill 2 in Duisburg-Beeckerwerth. The "Power Cooling" system from Primetals Technologies, operational since December 2010 and substantially enlarged in 2014, has passed its acceptance test.

Société Internationale Métallique selects Midrex and Primetals Technologies to build new HBI plant in Quebec
Société Internationale Métallique (SIM) has chosen Midrex Technologies, Inc. and its construction licensee Primetals Technologies to furnish the equipment and oversee the technological aspect of its project to build a 2.0 million ton-per-year (MTPY) hot briquetted iron (HBI) plant in the Bécancour Waterfront Industrial Park, a public-owned industrial park on the shores of the Saint-Lawrence River (Quebec, Canada); the site is a year-round deep water port and connected to major North American rail and road infrastructure.
